Dear Friends,
We’re so excited to announce that we’re being featured on the SITS Girls site today! In case you’re not familiar with this community, the SITS Girls connects 40,000 women bloggers who are looking to engage with each other. One such way is by introducing us to a different member blog each day, providing a kind of “best of” for that blog. And today is our day!
If you’re new to merelymothers, visiting from SITS, thanks so much for stopping by! Merelymothers was born out of Evanthia and Sarahlynne’s conversations about motherhood, the transition out of the workforce, and our marriages. We started to realize that we really wanted to address some issues that went a little deeper than your traditional mommy blog, especially our sense that stay-at-home moms have become the lowest caste of modern American society. Not that everything we write is super deep and heavy, but we tend to be analytical women who really think before we act and use our backgrounds as professional educators to influence our parenting decisions. We love engaging our readers in debates about gender, marriage, and parenting styles. The spicier the discussion, the better!
Another one of our favorite things to consider as stay-at-home moms to toddlers is fashion. We believe strongly that fashion can provide moms—especially stay-at-home moms—with a sense of self and a sense of pride. And the difference between sweatpants and a stained tee-shirt, and those amazing outfits you see on Pinterest is just a little effort and awareness.
We’ve written about our how our views on fashion have changed since becoming mothers, we’ve featured fellow bloggers and cleaned out our own closets during our Style Week, and we’ve even started following runway trends to see how we can translate these styles into something moms can actually wear. Now, we’re looking to expand our focus on fashion by adding a new member to the merelymothers team!
- The latest runway trends and how moms can wear them
- Budget-friendly deals on key wardrobe pieces
- Amazing self-created, what-to-wear collages
- Quick and easy hair and makeup ideas
Sound intriguing? Ideally, this addition to the merelymothers team would be:
- A woman
- A mom
- Someone with blogging/writing experience
- Someone with excellent grammar and writing skills
- Someone who’s got a strong sense of aesthetics and presentation
- Someone with a passion for the fashion!
If you or someone you know is interested in collaborating with us, please contact Evanthia and Sarahlynne at merelymothers [at] gmail [dot] com. Be sure to tell us a little about yourself, send us your best outfit collage, and include a link to your site (if applicable). We’d love to hear from you!

Thanks for stopping by, Cher!
I love the concept of your blog. I worked in Fashion before becoming a mom (I was stay at home for the first 5 years of my daughter’s life) so it has always been important to me to stay stylish. I’m probably not a head turner anymore, but I still make an effort to be stylish every day. Happy SITS day!

Congrats on your SITS day. It is my first visit but I am so intrigued by your blog. I have two masters degrees but I chose to be a SAHM. Some days I wake up and say, “how did I get here?” and some days, it is the best job in the world. I will definitely be following you guys going forward.

Traci, I’m so glad we were able to make this connection through SITS! You are our target audience, I’d say
Choosing to be a SAHM when you’re educated and employable is not always an easy decision, but for Sarahlynne and I, it was an obvious choice. Good for you for doing what felt right!
Happy SITS Day, ladies! It is so nice to find a great blog with not one , but two lovely bloggers:)

I love being a mom, and I love fashion–so this is perfect! I haven’t really found much on translating runway fashion to stay-at-home mom practical attire. I love clothes and wish I had a reason to really dress up sometimes. Good luck on finding that special someone!

HAPPY SITS DAY! I stumbled across your blog via the site and I’m so happy to have a new bookmark for my iPad. Although, I’m not a mommy, yet, I’m so intrigued by motherhood and my those who are passionate about it. With my mommy-blog-obsession, I’ve learned so much that I appreciate because I know motherhood is hard. It’s women like you that truly are an impact to society because not everyone is a fit parent, but you all offer the resources to make Motherhood just a little more easier! Thank you for that! Great blog! I’ll sure be back!
Wow, thanks, Kimberly! It’s so amazing to have such a wonderful response from someone who’s not a mom yet. It helps us understand that we’re reaching a broader audience, which is awesome! We’d love to have you stick around
Happy SITS day ladies, great stuff here on your site

Hi Merely Mothers! Happy Sitsday! I love the look of your blog! Great design! I’m intrigued by your take on toddler fashion. I find myself always dressing up my little Princess. I’ll be sure to head over to Pinterest to check out your fashion sense.
