What do all of the above outfits have in common? RIDING BOOTS!
If there were one shoe that I would recommend having in your closet for the fall/winter months, it would be a riding-style boot. This, coming from the woman who regularly wore heels for six straight years. This year, I just put my riding boots on. Easy. Done.
Wearing a flowy dress and tights? Put on your riding boots.
Wearing jeans and a shirt? Put on your riding boots.
Wearing a skirt and sweater? You get the picture.
If you have been considering purchasing a pair of riding boots, here are nine options under $100:
Mia Calvary Boot, Piperlime, $54.99
Miriam Boot Sole Society, $89.95
Wanted Neigh, Piperlime, $79.95
Celina Etienne Aigner, Piperlime, $74.50
Kasia Leather Boot, Target, $59.99
Annie Shane Boot, Amazon, $59.95
Sofft Claremont Boot, 6pm.com, $50.99
Nine West Vintage America 7Vermillion, 6pm.com, $84.99
*Note: All boots are shown in brown, but come in other colors, including black. Prices noted were as of earlier this week.
What do you think about riding boots? Are you in or out?

I love my boots! And the best part is, I’ve been able to rock them while pregnant, which gives my outfits a bit of an edge. Great post!
Ahhh yes – if I am ever pregnant in the fall/winter, I will be wearing my riding boots 24/7.

Amy, I have a question for you
I’ve been holding off on buying riding boots for years, because it seems like if you’re going to tuck your pants into them, they need to be super skinny pants. When I see people tuck other cuts into riding boots, the pant legs look all bunched up (which really bugs me, for some reason!). Is super skinny the way to go with riding boots? Thanks!
Good question! i’m not sure if there is a hard and fast rule on this, but I am with you – your pants should not be bunching around your boots. You can either wear the “skinny” styles to get around this, or tightroll (yes, I am bringing you back to the late 80s, early 90s here) and put a thick pair of socks over your jeans on the calf to reduce bulk. You won’t be able to see this under your boots so it doesn’t matter what your socks look like. I personally think Wigwam ski socks work great in this department
In any event, I would still try to wear slimmer leg jeans to ward off this problem – probably not going to work as well with flared legs! Hope this helps!

I just found this “how-to” on Pinterest, which shows step by step how to tuck your jeans into socks. http://pinterest.com/pin/73676143875770667/

Thanks Brooke!!!
